Cr Jennifer Anderson new MAV President

I am honoured to be named the new President of the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) – a first for a Councillor from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council!

The MAV is the peak industry body representing local government, with a vision to help local councils build a resilient and sustainable Victoria.

It works with like-minded organisations, and the State and Federal Government, to lead the way in best practice, drawing on examples across the sector and the world, to improve the lives of our communities.

As a fourth term Councillor, I am passionate about the local government sector. Councils are the closest level of government to the people, providing them with first hand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing Victorians.

This new position is exciting because it provides me with the opportunity to lead the MAV in its crucial role of providing an amplified voice for the needs of the local government sector and demonstrate the difference local government can make in the lives of everyone across our communities.

I look forward to the challenge and working with my fellow board members, CEO Kelly Grigsby, MAV staff, and all 79 Victorian councils.
