We have photography, painting, ceramics, contemporary art, jewellery making, performance art, musicians, playwrights to name a few.
Many places, such as The Old Auction House and the Woodend Art Group offer supportive environments in which to learn more about your chosen craft.
The Macedon Ranges is increasingly becoming more popular for film locations as well. For example in 2020 the Macedon Reservoir was a key location for a Liam Neeson Hollywood action film and a search on VicScreen Location Finder quickly suggests more iconic areas that are attracting the film industry and of course provide economic benefits for the region.
Supporting and promoting our local artists is an important role of Council and elected representatives and I think we have so much untapped potential here….
