In this blog series on Economic Development, I talk about our natural and open space assets, town planning, local businesses, activities and heritage and how they all intertwine to provide economic benefits to the area.
Most of our events and festivals are run by volunteers and supported not only by Council grants but also private businesses.
They generate activity for both locals and visitors alike and include (but not limited to):
- Kyneton’s world famous Daffodil and Arts Festival
- the emerging Autumn Festival, so successful a town in Tasmania is now mimicking it
- Bolobek Garden Fair
- Our Farmers Markets in Woodend, Kyneton and Lancefield
- Kyneton Contemporary Art Triennial (I took part in 2022 in filming at the transfer station in a gold space suit… )
